Prayers

Prayer is communion, conversing and most importantly communicating with God Our Father Almighty.

Prayer can be public or personal, spoken or silent.

The psalms are prayers we sing; they have been a part of the Christian Church’s communal prayer since the earliest days of the Christian Church.

Prayer is communication with a God who loves us and desires to be in relationship with us, through His Begotten and Beloved Only Son Jesus Christ Our Lord, Who rose from the dead on the third day.

Jesus teaches us about the importance of prayer. The Bible Gospels record seventeen times that Jesus took time apart to pray.

In the Bible Scriptures, Jesus prays often, morning and night.

Jesus prayed during critical events in his life and Jesus prays before ministering to people in need. Jesus is a model of prayer for us.

Prayer is essential to living a full life. The central communal form of prayer for the "Christian Catholic Churches" of God is the Liturgy/Mass.

Catholic means The Universal Christian Church Of God.

Some of the Christian Catholic Church’s most traditional and foundational prayers are as follows:

Morning Offering  of "Saint Therese De Lisieux"

O my God! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to His infinite merits; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of His merciful love. O my God, I ask of Thee for myself and for those dear to me the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy holy will, to accept, for love of Thee, the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in Heaven for all eternity.
Amen.

Grace before Meals

Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts which we are about to receive from your goodness, through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Glory be to The Father

Glory be to The Father, and to The Son, and to The Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins and trespasses, as we forgive those who sin and trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, for ever and ever, Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail, Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with Thee. Blessed are Thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Act of Contrition

O my God, I am very sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with Your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His Holy Name, my God, have mercy on me.

Hail, Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To Thee do we cry, to Thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this veil of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, Thy eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving,

O sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we maybe made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray,

O God, by the life, death and resurrection of Thy only beloved and begotton Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, may we both immitate Him and be brought to the Glory of His Resurection and salvation and ever lasting life, Amen.

Prayer for Protection

Holy Saint Michael the ARCHANGEL, Defend us in the hour of battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of The Heavenly Host, by The Power of God, cast into hell, satan and all the other evil spirits who wander through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

There are also contemporary ways to pray.

Talking with God each day, no matter the form or words used, nourishes our relationship and helps it and us to grow, more Christ like.

Silent prayer or meditation helps us focus our thoughts on God’s goodness and offers renewal in a noisy, hectic world.

Lectio Divina is a way of praying with the sacred Bible Scriptures.

Find a Bible Scripture passage that speaks to you.

Read it out loud and then reflect upon it silently for several minutes.

Read it again. Notice any words or phrases that stick with you.

Ask God what you are to learn from this passage.

Listen.

Keep a prayer journal with all of your wants, needs, thoughts and reflections related to your prayer life.
